Custom Navy Needlepoint Belt Preview

We’ve been quite busy designing personalized needlepoint belts the last few weeks!

I had to share this one, as it really came out well.

The flag and eagle with anchor only repeat once, but I would have had to cut them in half to make the preview accurate, so I left them on both sides so you could see them!

Some of the elements came from our Airplane Needlepoint Belt but new additions were the Eagle with Anchor, the Navy Logo, the Wings, Navy Chapel, and Navy Insignia.

Cool Instagram Photo Needlepoint Canvases

We’ve had a number of really cool needlepoint designs come through recently.

Below are three of my favorite needlepoint canvases we’ve made recently.  They were created using Instagram.

If you are not familiar with this process, the website above and many others use your photos, and turn your photo into a vintage looking image.

From there, you can save the photo and use it in NeedlePaint.com to make your own photo into needlepoint.

Hand Painted Needlepoint Cat Portrait

Sometimes we get requests for hand painted needlepoint canvases, and other times, we’re asked to design canvases that really need a painter’s skill set.

Being in the Denver area, we are fortunate to have a local canvas painter that loves to paint animals!  This cat was done for a customer who does not have any single good photo.  I spoke with the customer and mentioned that I know a painter who would love to work on this project and interpret all the photos into one design and they agreed.

And I’m glad they did!  They are loving this custom needlepoint project!

Yachting Needlepoint Belts

Most Excellent Needlepoint Crest Pillow

Barbara B recently emailed a picture of the needlepoint pillow she made from a needlepoint kit she ordered from us.

Just in time for Christmas, the receiver absolutly loves it, and who can blame them!

Look at the great stitching, and the piping really works well with it.

Also, the back side is done in a patriotic solid blue velvet plush.

Holiday Vacation Dates

We’re heading out for a week to be with our family!  No phones or email, it will be nice…  The only project is to design a needlepoint pillow kit for our new niece  🙂

NeedlePaint.com will still be working through the holiday, but we won’t be answering emails or the phone next week (Dec. 31 – Jan 4).

As soon as I came up with the Fluer De Lis needlepoint designs, I knew we had to design Snowflake Needlepoint Belts.

The Needlepoint Stocking of His Dreams

My wife was inspired last year by the “war and peace” stocking Peggy stitched for her granddaughter last year.  After seeing it, she decided she wanted to make our nephew his own needlepoint stocking.

Not being a very experience needlepointer, I’ve been impressed.  At Peggy’s suggestion, we bought the NeedlePoint Book by Jo Ippolito Christensen, and really had a good time with it.  Rather than doing all tent stitches, she found it a lot more enjoyable to follow Peggy’s lead, and do most of the sections in different stitches.

This week we had a request.  Our customer loves the Audubon White Pelican needlepoint canvas we have on our Ebay Shop, but wanted a lighter more fun background.  We decided to change the background to show the it standing on a rock, by the edge of the ocean.

It really turned out well!  If you ever have an idea for a needlepoint kit, that you can’t find anywhere, we’d be happy to help!

Beautiful Sunset Needlepoint

I was looking at Janet Perry’s fantastic website, nuts about needlepoint, today and came across one of the best looking projects I’ve seen in months!  The Naoshima Sunset was stitched by Lois Kershner and she won a prize at one of the ANG seminars last year for this!

This is custom needlepoint at it’s best.  The background is congress cloth, which was then stitched using light stitches and exposed canvas to achieve this effect.
