About this Design

Like most city flags, the Tulsa Oklahoma flag is full of symbolism. The blue represents the Arkansas River; the gold line -- discovery of oil, "black gold"; the native shield -- settlement of this area by native American Tribes; the red circle -- the lives lost during the 1921 Tulsa Race Massacre; and the beige star symbolizing a bright future.
